Rise in popularity of women’s football driving interest in online betting

Sports fans in New Zealand are gearing up to place their bets on the FIFA Women’s World Cup, which is set to take place on home soil this summer, according to NZCasinoClub.com, an online casino directory. The joint-hosting of the event by New Zealand and Australia in July and August is expected to generate record-breaking numbers of bets, as interest in the women’s game continues to rise.

The spokesperson for NZCasinoClub.com explained that due to the increased popularity of women’s football, and the fact that the US team is facing tough competition for the coveted FIFA 2023 Women’s World Cup winner status, the Kiwis are expected to be enthusiastic bettors. The US team is still considered the favourite to win, with odds at +275, but England’s Lionesses are close contenders at +350, following their European Championship victory against Germany last year. Many believe that they could even topple the USWNT (United States Women’s National Team).

Other teams that are expected to do well include Germany, Spain, and France. With 32 countries taking part in the tournament, there are more teams involved than ever before, with 24 teams having competed in the last tournament in 2019. Hosts Australia, Netherlands, Canada, Brazil, and Sweden are all also in the top 10 odds for the tournament.

The tournament kicks off on 20th July, with opening games in both New Zealand and Australia on the same day. New Zealand will play Norway at Eden Park, while Australia will be up against Ireland at Stadium Australia in Sydney. Games will also take place in Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, and Adelaide in Australia, and in Wellington, Dunedin, and Hamilton in New Zealand. The final will be held at Stadium Australia on 20th August.

The spokesperson for NZCasinoClub.com emphasised that while the women’s tournament may not generate as much betting activity as the men’s FIFA World Cup, which generated NZD $57 billion in bets globally last year, the excitement around the competition is expected to drive betting activity to new heights. The previous FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2019 saw bets of around NZD $160m worldwide, but this year’s event is predicted to generate even more.

NZCasinoClub.com is an easy-to-use online directory that helps punters find trusted casino sites where they can place their bets safely. The site features only casinos that have passed the company’s rigorous evaluation process. The expert team at NZCasinoClub.com simplifies the process of comparing gambling sites by highlighting the different bonuses and games available, as well as how payouts are made. The spokesperson reiterated that the site prioritises the safety and fairness of players, rather than the gambling sites themselves.
