Foundation Bags Generous Donation

The One Stop store, based in Lytham St Annes, has given a £1,000 cash boost to the AFC Fylde Community Foundation who will now use the funds to further progress their successful Outreach programme.

The money was raised through the store’s impressive ‘Carriers for Causes’ scheme in which One Stop collect the 5p carry bag charge and redirect the money back into the community helping to launch, run and continue projects across the entire country.

The ‘Carriers for Causes’ mission is to ‘benefit local communities – helping to improve lives and local places’.  And that’s exactly what the AFC Fylde Community Foundation will be doing with the cash bonus.

The Foundation, which delivers a vast number of community inspired programmes extending across and beyond the Fylde Coast, will be using the funding to extend the work of its Outreach project. The dedicated team from the Foundation provide free sports sessions for dozens of children at local parks each and every week. The popular sessions are not only educational and fun, but encourage and support young people to participate in physical activity, with the double benefit of supporting them to adopt a healthier lifestyle and meet new friends.

Foundation Director Tom Hutton was incredibly appreciative of One Stop’s generosity and said : ” ‘Carriers for Causes’  is a fantastic scheme and we are delighted to have been able to benefit from it. It’s great to see the local stores helping us to help the community. The donation will enable us to strengthen our Outreach programme and continue to engage with all aspects of the local community. Thank you once again to One Stop and also Lytham St Annes store manager Rachel Elliot.”
