Ribble Vets Builds New Surgery on Former Police Station Site

A new veterinary practice has opened in Penwortham on the site of the former police station.

Ribble Vets has opened the new facility on Liverpool Road as part of a development project after securing funding from NatWest.

The practice has been operating for more than 80 years and supplies veterinary care for companion and farm animals alongside equine services.

Ribble Vets operates three surgeries in Penwortham, Longton and Wesham, and includes a team of 15 veterinary surgeons working alongside veterinary nurses and administrative staff.

The new purpose built facility will support Ribble Vets’ continued commitment to providing high quality care for animals of all sizes. The new facility opened earlier this winter.

Nicky Birch, Practice Manager at Ribble Vets, said: “Our new purpose built facility is an exciting addition to Ribble Vets in the heart of the Penwortham community.  We hope to expand the service provision on offer and will also have room to develop the business as needed.

“We have been working with NatWest for more than 20 years and have a good relationship with the team. They understand our business goals and support us with funding solutions that fit our needs.”

Gary Swift, Relationship Director at NatWest who specialises in supporting businesses in the healthcare sector, supported the deal.

He said: “Ribble Vets has been delivering outstanding care to animals across the region for more than 80 years. The new surgery in Penwortham will enable the practice to develop further and we wish the business every success for the future.”
