HBG – Not your average property sales company

Harbour Business Group (HBG) and HBG Corporate after the recent strong year end growth results, new office and team editions have some more positive news. HBG are ready after months of preparation to tell the world they are not only an Insolvency Practice, as we now have a commercial property and businesses sales agent, our newest edition HBG Property. The newest division of the Group concentrates on the procurement and sales of businesses, large property portfolios, development land, hotels, care homes and any other commercial property and businesses.

HBG Property is managed by Claire Barton (pictured) who has extensive experience in this field coupled with a very friendly and approachable attitude. Claire will initially meet with clients to gain an understanding of their business, circumstances, time frames and most importantly; the price they can expect to achieve when selling their property or business. Thus, the service is completely tailored to suit each client’s needs.

Most agents charge large upfront fees, tie clients into lengthy contracts with inflated values to gain higher fees or use a sole agency clause, and there are no guarantees on selling. Claire says “Most clients I have met with feel trapped having paid a large entry fee, they are also charged large exit fees after being on the market for years with no success. They can’t withdraw and sell with another agent without falling foul of either the full fee or the exit fee. It angers me that agents are over inflating the selling price knowing they will not sell their business/property in years, and if their client has to reduce and reduce to sell, the client still has to pay the fee on the valued figure and not the actual selling price.”

HBG is a family business with multiple divisions, each of which are equipped with highly experienced, knowledgeable and empathetic professionals who have the tools and ability to reach quick results for their clients. Our philosophy for selling is a different and unique approach, basing much of our success on the extensive contacts and high profile investors we work closely with. Claire states “Often we don’t even take photographs or advertise on websites as the delicate nature is such that these are private sales we are facilitating. A lot of clients don’t want the wider public knowing that their business or property is for sale to protect the business.”  We have a plethora of high value cash buyers looking to invest in all manner of businesses allowing the whole process to take place without any stress or damage to the business.

Claire’s thoughts on the business model are “It’s really exciting to be part of such a great team of specialists that can assist our clients on all aspects of their business from revival to restructuring, including helping our clients with their exit strategy to achieve the most from their business or property sale, facilitating the transaction with speed and precision.”
