World Leisure Wins Village Hotel Debut Contract

Leyland-based World Leisure has won a contract with construction firm Willmott Dixon to provide a leisure pool, spa, sauna and steam room for the £19.9m Village Hotel currently being built at Lakeside North Harbour, Portsmouth.

Due for completion in Autumn 2017, the hotel will include 153 rooms, conference facilities and a leisure club with swimming pool, gym and fitness studios.

The hotel will represent the debut of the new Village Hotel concept, as designed by architects 3DReid, which delivers an evolution of the current Village Urban Resort offer on a more compact footprint – providing potential for the company to expand into more central urban areas, where sites are generally smaller in size.

World Leisure has been contracted to provide a 20 m leisure pool, spa, sauna and steam room at the new hotel, having successfully delivered a similar installation previously for the Village Hotel Glasgow.

World Leisure managing director Simon Smith said: “We are delighted to have won this contract, our fourth for the Village Hotel group.  We will be onsite from April and are looking forward to unveiling the completed facilities in the Autumn.”
