Portergate supporting students all the way

Portergate Property Management showed their support of the School of Engineering at UCLan by inviting students and Lecturers on Tuesday 14th November to their latest luxury student accommodation development: Friargate Court, in the centre of Preston.

18 students from the Building Services and Sustainable Engineering B. Eng (Hons) degree viewed the Plant Room and listened to a practical account of the Mechanical and Electrical capability of the building. Simon Bennett, Applications Engineer from Adveco, manufacturers of the CHP Unit and Water Heaters installed, talked through the system that was designed by TACE Building Services Consultancy.

Friargate Court is a newly constructed purpose built 244-bedroomed luxury accommodation residence and is now the main thoroughfare between the city centre and UCLan’s campus. In fact it edges Adelphi Square – the epicentre of the proposed £200 million redevelopment of the Preston-based University campus. Portergate is one of the largest private investors in Preston currently and have made it their mission to make a positive difference as part of Preston’s continual evolution.

Anthony Jackson, Chairman of Portergate, comments: “We are delighted to continue our relationship with the School of Engineering. A relationship which we hope will encourage budding engineers to study at UCLan and assist on future developments around the city.”
