‘Inspiring’ teenager nominated for award

One young man has been hailed as ‘inspiring’ for his work in the print and sign industries, after setting up a print buying and management business, Creative Print North West as a young teenager. Now, the 19-year-old is up for Young Micro entrepreneur of the Year.

The Citi Micro-Entrepreneurship Awards are held annually, and Jake Adams, founder of Jake Mina Associates, which trades as Creative Print North West, has been put forward for the accolade. The teenager founded the business in 2016, when he was just 17-years-old, and was providing flyers, business cards, and even large-format banners to customers. Adams had already gained some experience in the industry, after launching a community printing operation in 2012 whilst still in education.

Having already been named the Most Inspiring Young Person at the annual Be Inspired Business Awards, Adams is determined to put his customers first. He explains: “We put pride before profit – pride in the service and quality we deliver to our customers, and in our work. We’re humbly proud to be shortlisted for this national award, recognising everyone in our business, and the support we’ve received from Business Finance Solutions, which have been an invaluable source of expertise, along with working finance.

The support from Business Finance Solutions, which saw Adams and Creative Print North West receive help to create an online platform to purchase print and soft signage products and invest in new equipment.

“Jake’s commitment to make his business successful is second to none,” says John Cannon of Business Finance Solutions, adding: “His efforts—and successes—in creating a sustainable business and local jobs, alongside his enormous contribution to the community have been remarkable and he deserves all the recognition he is receiving. We have been proud to support Jake’s business. He is a worthy finalist for the Young Entepeneur Award in the Citi Micro-Entrepreneurship Awards.”
