Lancashire safeguarding business welcomes 3 new team members

Following their recent relocation to Blackburn’s award-winning offices; One Cathedral Square, local safeguarding organisation, Personnel Checks have appointed 3 new team members to facilitate their ongoing expansion.

Chris Porter joins the Personnel Checks team as Commercial Head of Safeguarding and is responsible for growing the Personnel Checks portfolio of clients by creating, promoting and implementing safeguarding cultures across corporate organisations in the UK.

Prior to joining the national, family run business, Chris spent several years working as a sales Team Leader within the technology industry before taking up a role as Commercial Director at a textile company, importing products from all over the world to serve the UK hospitality industry.

Alongside Chris, the team have also recruited Chloe Hollister who joins their fast-paced Taxi Licensing department delivering ‘TaxiPlus’, a service developed in collaboration with local authorities across the country, assisting in streamlining licensing processes whilst assisting drivers to obtain a taxi badge as well as equipping them with much needed knowledge to safeguard towns and cities.

In March, the organisation was thrilled to achieve full accreditation status from the CPD (Continuing Professional Development) for their interactive safeguarding training- Trust2Ride – a classroom-based, safeguarding awareness course for taxi drivers in the UK.
In addition to their 3 apprentices across the business, Personnel Checks welcomes a 4th in Kevin Whatmough, who joins the growing team after nearly 3 years working in the hospitality industry.

Currently, 3 of the 8 Senior Leaders within the business joined as Apprentices, demonstrating the huge investment and focus the company invests into the young people of Lancashire.

Commenting on the new appointments, Personnel Checks Director Jack Mellor said:

The safeguarding business has seen continued growth year-on-year, gaining knowledge and experience to further develop and tailor their product line to enable organisations nationwide to better safeguard society.
