VisitBlackpool and event guide and ticketing outlet, Skiddle, are working together in partnership for the first time ahead of the Blackpool Illuminations Switch-On 2018.
North West-based Skiddle will be selling £10 Golden Circle admission tickets for the world-famous event on 31 August, which will guarantee entry for some of those who missed out on the free wristband ballot.
A limited amount of After Show Party tickets for the Blackpool Tower Ballroom will also be sold through skiddle.com and the Skiddle App.
The Switch-On event on the Tower Festival Headland will see the likes of Ella Eyre, Jonas Blue, Diversity and Rae Morris perform on stage, culminating in the big switch-on by international music star Alfie Boe.
Switch-On 2018 marks the start of 66 nights of illuminations with over three million visitors expected between August 31 and November 4.
Co-Founder and Director of Skiddle, Richard Dyer, said: “We are delighted to be working with VisitBlackpool ahead of the 2018 Switch-On for what promises to be a spectacular show. Whilst Skiddle sell for thousands of gigs, club nights and festivals UK wide, working in partnership with local events is incredibly important to our businesses and our staff – many of whom live and work in the Blackpool and Fylde area and grew up visiting the Illuminations. The Switch-On is one of the UK’s most spectacular events and we can’t wait to be involved in 2018 and beyond.”
Cllr Gillian Campbell, Deputy Leader of Blackpool Council said:
“We are looking forward to working with Skiddle this year on our Golden Circle offer giving us a more streamlined approached to our ticketing for this annual event.”
