Retail outlet launches new ‘pods’ for local businesses to share footfall

Wrightington’s JAK Hanson has built four units at the front of its Derby House store to give local businesses the opportunity to share existing footfall and be part of its appeal as a north west destination shopping venue.
Selling top name clothing, footwear, toys, homewares, gifts and bedding brands; the expanding retail outlet is celebrating ten years at its current location, just off the M6 motorway.
The 18,000 sq ft building also houses Derby House Food Hall and The Paddock Restaurant and is popular with coach tour groups as a stop off point and offers excellent disabled access being located all on one level.
The four 220sq ft units are ideally sized for small businesses such as hair and beauty salons, florists, estate agents, dog groomers, photographers etc.
JAK Hanson has also been shortlisted for the Lancashire Tourism Awards Finals 2023 in the category of Family Owned/Run Business.  The winner is set to be announced in February 2024, following a round of interviews and mystery shoppers.
Jane Ramones, co-founder of JAK Hanson said: “This is an exciting new era in our history at Derby House.  We’re keen to offer local businesses the chance to share in our success story and take advantage of existing footfall.
“Customers will also be glad to hear of even more variety at our store, which is so convenient to access and attracts shoppers from across the region and beyond.”
