Inciner8 CEO Reflects on First Six Months, Foresees Growth in Global Incineration Market

Darren Spencer, the newly appointed chief executive of Southport-based Inciner8, believes that the incineration market is poised for substantial growth as more countries recognise the environmental benefits of waste incineration.

As he marks his first six months at the helm of the UK-based manufacturer of incinerators, Spencer is enthusiastic about the global potential for expansion. Inciner8, known for supplying incinerators worldwide, has been experiencing year-on-year growth, with 98 percent of its products being exported internationally.

Bringing with him a wealth of experience in the machinery industry and a global perspective, Spencer is determined to guide Inciner8 through its next phase of development, aiming to achieve ambitious goals in terms of expansion and innovation.

He sees the current state of the market as highly conducive to further business expansion, given the growing global interest in clean-air incineration. Inciner8’s incinerators are utilised by customers across various sectors, including healthcare, municipal waste management, mining, NGOs, agriculture, and remote island hospitality.

Spencer commented, The world has a huge waste problem, but there is only so much space for landfill. Many countries are switching on to the benefits of incineration, with businesses like Inciner8 working hard to change perceptions of this method of disposing of waste.”

He highlighted examples such as Sweden, where combusted waste is used to generate energy, and Japan, where incinerators address the issue of limited landfill space. Spencer also noted that reducing waste sent to landfills contributes to lower methane production, thereby mitigating the impact on climate change.

“After my first six months in this industry,” Spencer stated “I can see huge potential for Inciner8, which uses pioneering clean-air technology and pollution control systems to help customers meet their environmental goals. As a responsible manufacturer, we see it as our role to educate even more people about the benefits of incineration above landfill and address any misconceptions they may have.”

With over 30 years of experience in the manufacturing sector, Spencer possesses the strategic thinking and commercial acumen required to lead Inciner8. His mandate includes expanding the company’s global reach and supporting authorities and businesses worldwide in addressing waste management challenges through clean-air incineration solutions.

As the global population continues to grow, putting more pressure on landfill as the primary waste disposal option, Spencer is committed to driving Inciner8’s focus on providing sustainable and cost-effective incineration solutions.

Spencer concluded, “As someone who has worked for 30+ years in manufacturing and global distribution, witnessing what the team at Inciner8 have achieved in the past few years is highly impressive, and an example of what a driven team with a clear vision can do. I accepted the offer to join the team after observing an industry that clearly has so much potential for growth, and a belief that Inciner8 is a business uniquely placed to become a market leader within the incineration industry.”
