Motorist jailed after being found with £598k of heroin in car

A man has been jailed for six years after police raided his car and found heroin, worth £598,000.

Lancashire’s Roads Policing Unit stopped Mohin Syed (pictured) whilst he was driving on the M6 near Garstang.

In total there were nine packages weighing 1kg each, stashed in the footwell of his vehicle.

The street value of the heroin is around £598,000.

Syed (24) of Limbrey Drive, Milton Keynes, was placed in custody and charged by the Project Adder team – a multi-agency initiative in Blackpool targeting those who sell Class A Drugs.

He admitted being concerned in the supply of heroin and possession with intent to supply heroin.

The stop of the vehicle was made as part of ongoing Operation Warrior, which was set up to target individuals and gangs involved in crime, as well as associated issues such as violence and intimidation, large scale drug supply, exploitation and fraud, all of which can cause serious harm to local communities.
