The Killing Tree Clothing business, based in Preston, is rapidly expanding, after a bumper last 12 months

Founded in 2014, the firm produces clothes with a conscience. It uses responsibly procured products in environments where worker welfare takes priority.

Founder Karl Sandor, from Walton-le-Dale, has turned the fashion brand into one of the UK’s leading independent clothing and accessory brands.

Karl told Blog Preston: “Our mission from the outset has been to offer something different in terms of design, quality and production. The last couple of years have seen the brand go from strength to strength, in terms of both the products we now offer and the customer base we engage with.

“Since our inception we have been keen to support the creative industry, that in turn has led us to work on collections with a number of notable indie artists and rising stars of the future to showcase their work on a scale that is not readily accessible through other clothing labels.”

He added: “Fresh investment into the business has and will allow us to continue making positive changes to enhance the customer offering. Most importantly production will move in house allowing us greater control on both the quality and creative output.

“We also have a number of exciting opportunities with the overseas markets, together with some mind-blowing collaborations that 18 months ago were in our wildest dreams.

“We have also been offered a number of shop floor opportunities in physical stores, but it’s a case of deciding who best fits with our values and core market.”

The firm is also beginning to work with the University of Central Lancashire to showcase the talents of fashion students.
