Applethwaite Scheme Brings New Homes to Hutton

Construction work has begun on an exciting new housing development in Hutton, Lancashire, helping to increase the number of new build properties in the sought-after rural location.

The Walton Gardens development from residential developer Applethwaite, part of the Eric Wright Group, comprises 46 two, three and four bedroom homes and three-bed dormer bungalows.

Located just off Liverpool Road and opposite Hutton C of E Grammar School, the scheme also includes a car park to be used by parents during drop off and pick up at the all-boys school and co-ed sixth form, helping to ease traffic on the main road.

The sales office at Walton Garden’s opened this week and the show home is on track to finish July 2017.

Around 16 homes are due to complete on site in 2017, with the remaining due to finish by summer 2018. The first properties to be released start from £320,000 for a 4 bedroom detached ‘Winster’ house type.

As part of Applethwaite’s ongoing commitment to help the communities that it operates in, the developer has donated £500 each to two local primary schools, Longton and St Oswald’s, to use as they wish to improve on campus facilities. Longton Primary School is using the donation to fund two new roofs for its outdoor class areas.

Colin Hetherington, director of Applethwaite Ltd, said: “Opportunities to purchase a new build home in Hutton are rare and we’ve been overwhelmed by the number of enquiries, with hundreds of people already signed up to a waiting list.

“There’s huge popularity in areas close to high performing schools, with Hutton no exception, and we look forward to completing the development that’s been designed with a cross section of buyers in mind.”
