Wynsors World of Shoes has appointed a talented HR professional and mum of two, from the Ribble Valley to oversee its Bacup based colleagues, as well as all the divisions across the entire E Sutton Group – totaling a 600-strong team.
Boasting three decades of experience as a HR chartered manager, Theresa Corish’s expertise across five different companies, combined with years of experience multi-tasking as a working mum, is set to be an asset as she embarks on her new role overseeing the HR needs of hundreds of colleagues.
Based in Whalley, Theresa lives on the doorstep of the Lancashire based shoe firm and has spent many years as a Wynsors’ customer shopping for school shoes for her children.
Theresa started heading up the HR division of the E Sutton Group in May of this year, where she is responsible for overseeing six divisions, of which Wynsors World of Shoes is one.
The role sees her drive the HR function, along with learning and development of six divisions, as well as plans to work with the team to provide a HR function that will drive the business forward.
Theresa has had an impressive career, having supported, coached and advised directors, board members and senior managers at an impressive list of well-known high street retailers and distributors including Boots and Sally Beauty Holdings.
The last 30 years has seen Theresa’s career span a variety of different sectors; something Theresa attributes to the development of her skill set, saying;
“Wynsors is a well-established business that has employees with long service and it has an energy about it which fits my personality, so I’m very passionate about this new role.
“If I could give any advice to young women who are starting out in a business, it would be to believe in yourself. There are big opportunities out there for those who work hard and stay focused.
“I would always encourage others to follow their passion – that way you want to come to work every day.”
