Blackburn Cathedral Appeal to host Clitheroe golf event

The Blackburn Cathedral Appeal is to hold a charity golf event in Clitheroe. Taking place on 18 September at Clitheroe Golf Club, the Blackburn Cathedral Charity Golf Day welcomes a maximum of 18 teams of four for a full day of golf.

Attendees will be welcomed with coffee and breakfast sandwiches and as well as the standard 18 holes, guests will take part in other golf themed games, including ‘beat the pro’, longest drive and nearest to the pin, before meeting in the clubhouse for a two-course dinner.

Christopher Clay, Senior Investment Director, Investec Wealth & Investment, said: “I am sure it will be a very enjoyable and relaxed day and will help to raise valuable funds for the Cathedral Appeal. I am delighted that our 2018 Golf Day at Pleasington GC raised just under £5000.

“Any funds raised will go towards the Cathedral’s work with people of all faiths in the wider community. In addition, it will help with the redevelopment of the Crypt as a centre for exhibitions and meetings, as well as the display and preservation of the Cathedral’s collection of archives and artefacts.”
