Police appeal for information following Thornton Cleveleys vehicle fires

Detectives are investigating the cause of multiple vehicle fires, after two cars and a van were found ablaze.

Police were called to reports of the fires on Lyddesdale Avenue and Luton Road, nearby, at around 7.30am on Saturday.

There were no injuries and the fire brigade were quick to assist.

Officers are now looking to identify the man pictured, as CCTV images have established that he was nearby at the time of the incident and may be able to assist with enquiries.

Inspector Andrew Crook said: “We’re at the early stages of our enquiries, so I’d ask anyone who has any information, knows the man pictured or saw anything suspicious, no matter how insignificant they think it may be, to make contact with us and let us know”.

“If you have any CCTV, video doorbell footage or dash cam footage from the area, either at the time of the incident or in the hours before or after, we’d like to hear from you.”

Anyone with information can contact police on 101 quoting log 0281 of March 23.
