A business woman is taking to the stage for a charity sing-off in memory of her karaoke-loving dad.
Director of lovelocalsolutions, Rachel Kay from Clitheroe, recently lost her dad Keith Haworth (81), who suffered with vascular dementia. The duo are pictured.
The ‘Great Chamber Sing-off’ is a Stars in their Eyes-style event, being run by the East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce. It takes place at Burnley Mechanics Theatre, from 7.30pm – 10.30pm this Friday.
Rachel said: “Dad had vascular dementia but also a sparkle in his eyes right until the end. Dad and I discovered a shared love of karaoke back in 2018 after Mum passed away. I joined him and his friends one evening shortly after that at The Cross Axes in Great Harwood and had a super night of singing karaoke together, so I really hope I do him proud. We said our final farewells to Dad last Friday, and I’ll now be singing in memory of him this Friday.
“There will be 14 of us all raising money for great causes. I will be raising money local charities Nightsafe and Positive Action in the Community. Both organisations do incredible work helping homeless young people get roofs over their heads and build brighter futures. PAC also supports victims of domestic violence and local mental health initiatives too.
