Holiday Inn Express show their support to Community

The Holiday Inn Express in Burnley have made Burnley FC in the Community their fundraising focus for 2017 by signing up the charity’s ‘Friends Of’ scheme.

With a commitment to supporting local businesses, people and communities, staff at the hotel have planned a range of activities that will aim to raise over and above the donation made by owners Starboard Hotel Group throughout the course of the year.

“I want to do a Tough Mudder or a Total Warrior type event and I think I have persuaded some of the staff to join me too’, commented Deputy General Manager, Lee Hargreaves, who will take up the mantle of the hotels’ Charity Champion.

We are lucky in that our owners are advocates of supporting local causes and when I heard about the work of Burnley FC in the Community, I really wanted to support in a way that went beyond the Friends Of scheme.

As a Burnley hotel, we benefit significantly from the team being in the Premier League and we are happy to give back by supporting the work of the club’s fantastic official charity.”

Ryan Bradley, Business Development Executive at Burnley FC in the Community said: “The Friends Of scheme is not just about donating – it is about getting hands on and knowing you are making a difference to the people who need it most in our region. The scheme is about recognising businesses that help us have a real impact and Lee and all the staff at the Holiday Inn Express can be proud of the support they are offering their local community.”

The 102-bedroom Holiday Inn Express in Burnley opened in 2008 and now employs 22 local people. With easy access to junction 10 of the M65, the hotel boasts five high-specification conference and meeting rooms as well as a fully licensed bar and restaurant.
