Morecambe-based AM Services Group acquires Liverpool washroom business

Morecambe facilities management business AM Services Group has revealed the latest in a series of acquisitions to support the company’s growth strategy. AM Services Group recently acquired the highly respected, Liverpool-based, family-owned SLS Washroom Services, following a major expansion of its services in spring 2016, with the acquisition of a leading Stoke-on-Trent based specialist cleaning company.

The move enables AM Services Group to deepen its penetration of the washroom services market in the north of England and Wales and to embrace a larger share of the hospitality market.

AM Services Group’s managing director Adrian Cresswell said: “It’s never easy for a company to give up its identity to another, especially when it has such a sense of local pride and reputation. We are certain that we will do the business and the people of Liverpool proud with our caring approach, willingness to listen, and the ‘One Team, One Goal’ ethos of our staff.”

SLS Washroom Services, a family-owned and operated business, originally set up in 2005, has been providing washroom and waste disposal services to customers in Merseyside, Cheshire and parts of Wales. Its former director Steve Handley commented: “Our focus was to provide a reliable, friendly and flexible service to small and medium size businesses who preferred not to deal with the large multinational companies that dominate the sector. We were keen to find a purchaser who would provide the same reliable, friendly and flexible service that we worked hard to provide.”

AM Services Group was founded in 2002 and is rapidly expanding across the north west, north east, Yorkshire, Midlands and beyond.
