Teachers, support staff and current Adult Learners will be on hand to explain the excellent variety of courses available throughout the year, from developing a new pastime to gaining accredited professional qualifications, practical skills or vital Maths and English qualifications.

Details of the Adult Learners’ Advice and Enrolment Event are:

Location: Burnley College, Princess Way, Burnley

Date: Wednesday 24 January

Time: 5.30pm – 7.30pm

Burnley College offers a wide range of courses to suit all academic levels and skill sets, ages and experience. Among the popular courses starting in the coming weeks are Languages, DIY or IT skills, Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering qualifications, Leadership and Management, Childcare and Education, Accountancy, Health and Social Care and Sports courses

Simon Jordan, Deputy Principal of Burnley College, said: “Our Advice and Enrolment Event is a great opportunity for Adult Learners to find out exactly what Burnley College can offer, whether it’s making 2018 a life-changing year professionally or academically or pursuing a new hobby.

“Adult Learners always comment on how our tutors are friendly, approachable and professional, making the journey back into education one that is both rewarding and enjoyable. Our Advice and Enrolment Event offers a chance to meet teachers, see our amazing facilities and secure a place on our popular courses, where you’ll be studying alongside like-minded learners who share your goals and interests.

”Attending the Advice and Enrolment Event could be the start of an amazing academic journey that could see you entering Higher Education, studying for a degree and changing your life.”

Michelle Wilkinson (43), from Padiham, is studying for a Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care (Mental Health Pathway) at UCLan Burnley after returning to Burnley College as an Adult Learner in 2014 with a desire to change her life. She said:“Returning to Burnley College as an Adult Learner has changed my life and I’d encourage anyone thinking of taking that first step back into education to give it a go.

“I’ve got my Maths and English qualifications, a Diploma in Health and Social Care and an Access to Higher Education (Allied Health Professionals) qualification to my name now – I never imagined that I’d achieve so much in such a short space of time when I first stepped through the doors of Burnley College. I’m so close to realizing my career dream of being a manager in a care home.

“My advice to anyone thinking of attending the Advice and Enrolment event is make it a firm date in your diary and see just what a great place Burnley College is and how friendly and supportive the teachers are.”
