Motionlab & FIT Show scoop national marketing award

Lancashire’s leading marketing and technology agency, Motionlab has developed an award-winning campaign for the window, door and conservatory industry’s flagship event; FIT Show.

FIT Show was awarded the ‘Best Trade Show Marketing Campaign’, developed in partnership with Motionlab, at the 2018 Exhibition News Awards (ENAs). FIT Show was shortlisted amongst eight other finalists at the 12th ENAs, which were held at London’s Battersea Evolution.

The award was presented for the 2017 FIT Show marketing campaign which helped to take the exhibition from its original ‘home’ at The International Centre, Telford to The NEC, Birmingham.

Centred around the theme of ‘Something BIG’, the campaign utilised people and products from every corner of the industry to reinforce that FIT Show would bring the biggest players under one roof for the three biggest business days of the industry calendar.

The marketing campaign utilised new channels and tactics, including increased social media activity and the introduction of video. Social media and print had a combined reach of over 9 million. Website visits increased by 52% versus the 2016 campaign with a 63% increase in visits to exhibitor sites from the FIT Show website.

In a difficult market, hot on the heels of Brexit, the FIT Show’s move to the NEC saw a 17.4% increase in visitors to nearly 10,000, 33.5% increase in exhibitors, 79% increase in space sold, 68% increase in revenue and 103% increase in profit.

EN judges, who voted on 22 awards in total covering people, companies and shows, commented: “Facing the challenge of moving from one venue to the NEC, the team delivered an exceptional campaign.

“Their multichannel communications and marketing and communications campaign delivered exceptional results across all metrics.”

FIT Show event director, Nickie West said: “We’re delighted to have been recognised amongst our peers for having developed a stand out marketing campaign for the 2017 FIT Show.

“Working in partnership with Motionlab, we have introduced new channels and techniques designed to spread the FIT Show message far and wide. The year-on-year growth speaks for itself. We can’t wait to reveal the 2019 campaign.”

Motionlab has acted as creative and digital partner to FIT Show since its inception in 2013. The next FIT Show will take place at Birmingham’s NEC on May 21st, 22nd and 23rd 2019
