Blackpool Sixth Form building futures with The Baxter Group and the Young Chamber

A new partnership has been launched between The Blackpool Sixth Form College and The Baxter Group Ltd. Blackpool Sixth’s strategic partnership with The Baxter Group was set up by the North and Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce Young Chamber programme, which works to increase engagement for the students with the local business community to gain the skills, knowledge and experience to complement their academic qualifications.

Tina Cooper, Assistant Principal, Vocational, said: “At Blackpool Sixth we work hard to ensure that our students receive high-quality careers education and guidance, alongside work experience. Students have a wide range of opportunities that enables them to make informed decisions about progressing into higher education, employment or training after completing their studies with us. We really value external support such as this partnership with The Baxter Group which will enable students to gain information and experience to guide their decisions about their future. We are delighted to be working with The Baxter Group and the Chamber of Commerce and look forward to working with them in delivering a number of exciting projects.”

As part of the arrangement, the Chamber will provide mentoring and career development activities such as mock interviews and work experience placements, while Blackpool Sixth and Baxter’s will explore opportunities for sector-specific activities and community projects.
