North West Roofing Group expands with acquisition of Solway Slate & Tile Co

Blackburn-based Taylors Solicitors LLP and Bishops Chartered Accountants have assisted North West Roofing with its acquisition of Solway Slate & Tile.

The acquisition of Solway, for an undisclosed sum, will drive the expansion of the North West Roofing Group and is projected to take its turnover to over £22m.

Solway, an owner-operated merchant of roofing supplies and materials has, over 20 years, built a strong reputation for providing quality materials and service in the North of England and South Scotland and, in particular, in Cumbria, where Solway is based.

Steve Phillips, MD of North West Roofing Group said “We are delighted with the acquisition of Solway, which will be a welcome addition to the North West Roofing family. Both Taylors and Bishops have been invaluable in bringing the acquisition to a conclusion that all parties are happy with and in a timely fashion. We look forward to making the expanding group an ongoing success”.

He said Solway’s ethos of providing a quality product with exceptional service exactly mirrors that of North West Roofing, which will allow Solway to quickly integrate into the North West Roofing group.

Associate Matthew Catterall of Taylors Solicitors LLP said: “We are delighted to have assisted Steve Phillips and the rest of the team at the North West Roofing in bringing Solway into the Group. It is an exciting period of expansion for the group, underlines North West Roofing’s ambition plans for growth in the coming years and its confidence in both the local and national building and housing markets”

Andrew Tabernacle of Bishops Chartered Accountants, commented “This acquisition sees the continued expansion of  North West Roofing’s operations, a process the team at Bishops have been advising on for a number of years. As always it is a pleasure working with Steve Philips and his team”
