Blackpool Bus Driver’s vision to spread Christmas joy comes to life

The local transport provider has turned one of their premium branded Palladium double decker buses into a bus which resembles Santa’s sleigh and his reindeers.

The idea behind the Christmas initiative came from local bus driver Roy, who wanted to spread some Christmas joy to customers travelling by bus throughout December.

In the past Roy has dressed as Santa during some of his work shifts over the Christmas period and on selected dates throughout December, Blackpool Transport will have Santa in the driving seat with his Elves onboard to hand out goodies and treats.

Roy Binns, Bus Driver at Blackpool Transport said “I love getting into the spirit of Christmas and being able to bring a smile to a customer’s face. I’m delighted that I’ve been able to turn my mobile office into a Christmas themed bus and hope residents of Blackpool raise a smile if they spot it around town.”

Sally Shaw, Director of People & Stakeholders at Blackpool Transport added “We wanted to be able to say thank you and wish our customers a very Merry Christmas this year. Turning the ideas of one of our very own drivers into a reality has been the perfect way to do that.”
