Lancaster’s MBA ranked No.2 in the world for corporate strategy in FT global rankings 2021

Lancaster University Management School’s MBA programme is ranked No.2 in the world for corporate strategy and 8th in the world for value for money in the Financial Times MBA global rankings 2021.

Lancaster’s MBA programme is placed 9th in the UK, 25th in Europe and 96th in the world.

It also claims 24th place, globally, for the effectiveness of LUMS’ career service and is ranked 33rd in the world for the proportion of teaching dedicated to Corporate Social Responsibility issues. LUMS students also reported a 75 per cent salary increase 3 years after completing their MBA programme, and 84 per cent of students reported their aims had been achieved.

The new FT rankings closely follow the Which?MBA rankings published by The Economist last month, which saw Lancaster University Management School climb 22 places to be ranked 66th in the world.

Professor Angus Laing, Dean of Lancaster University Management School, said: “It is excellent to see some of the real strengths of our MBA highlighted in these global rankings. This truly comes down to the alumni behind the data who are exceptional, business-minded people, and the MBA team who are dedicated to providing our students with a first-class experience.”

Dr Robyn Remke, Director of LUMS’ MBA programme, said: “I feel a great sense of pride – both of the programme we run, and the students that thrive on our programme and go on to carve out exceptional and rewarding careers. The focus on practice-based learning and our programme principles of responsibility, sustainability, and inclusivity fully equips tomorrow’s leaders with the knowledge, skills and experience they need to tackle any situation. I am grateful to our alumni for their participation in the rankings as well as their ongoing contributions to our programme’s success.”

Chris Saunders, Associate Dean for Postgraduate Education in LUMS, said: “What sets LUMS apart from other business schools is our hunger to continually improve – ensuring our programmes and teaching always hit the mark. Rankings based on alumni data like this demonstrate the strength of the post graduate offering we provide at Lancaster University Management School, and I’d like to personally thank our alumni for contributing.”

Lancaster University consistently ranks within the top ten of the three major league tables in the UK. Out of more than 120 UK universities, Lancaster is currently 8th in the Complete University Guide 2021, and is 10th in both the Guardian University Guide 2021 and The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2021.
