Lancashire Mind ask for Lancashire businesses to step up

Mental Health charity Lancashire Mind are seeking Lancashire businesses for the final sponsorship packages of their flagship fundraising event Mental Elf.

The event is the charity’s biggest fundraising event of the year and is bigger and better this year with an in-person event as well as a virtual one.

Aiming to collectively travel the 4042km from Rivington Pike to the North Pole, Lancashire Mind are asking supporters to choose their own distance challenges or take part in the charity’s 5K Fun Run on Sunday 5 December at Witton Park Blackburn.

As well as the race itself, where people are encouraged to come dressed as elves, there will be lots of entertainment and a marketplace where you can grab some Christmas presents.

Emma Bateson, Fundraising Lead at Lancashire Mind, said: “Lancashire businesses are a key part of Mental Elf. They have always stepped up and partnered with us for this, our biggest event of the year, and we couldn’t do it without them.

“It’s a great opportunity for Lancashire companies to promote their businesses and also show their commitment to the mental wellbeing of all in Lancashire.”

Lancashire-based nutritional pet food producer, Webbox, are this year’s headline sponsor and Essential Industrial Services Limited are Finish Line sponsors. With just a few sponsorship packages left up for grabs Lancashire Mind are looking for Lancashire businesses keen to champion mental health and wellbeing, to step in and take up the last few packages.

Emma continued: “Sponsorship is a fantastic way to support a local charity whilst achieving a route to market and generating great brand awareness amongst your customers.

“We have a large network of supporters across our social media, mailing lists and website visitors. Not to mention all those we reach through our work in schools, communities and workplaces, making it an extremely attractive offer for any business.”

2019 saw Lancashire Mind work directly with over 12,000 children and adults across the county and reach thousands more through phone calls, emails and on social media. The pandemic has seen a 166 percent increase in referrals for support for young people between January and June 2021.

“We know that the mental health effects of the pandemic will continue to manifest within our communities for a long time to come so it’s important that we’re able to continue to deliver our services to the people of Lancashire. But we simply cannot do that without the support of the communities and businesses we serve.”
