13 businesses from across the North West have been crowned winners at this year hotly anticipated ‘Freshies Awards 2022’ run by Chorley-based recruitment business, Fresh Perspective.
The Freshies are a not-for-profit awards celebration that are designed to inspire and bring together local businesses; and for the second-year running was an event with a twist to celebrate and recognise businesses in categories that the more traditional awards just don’t cover. With host Tony Greenwood returning to do the honours alongside Laura Leyland & Emily Leyland, the awards retained its more informal event format with a pizza buffet, entertainment and dancing.
Having submitted their application, including a video entry on why they should win for the judges to consider, the 13 winners fought off intense competition from successful entrepreneurs across the North West to scoop the prize:
1. Positivity Pioneer – Simone Howarth, Enabling Me
2. Planet Protector – Jack Bannister, Rapid IT
3. Captain Kindness – Deborah Blades, Blackburn Rovers Community Trust
4. Wellbeing Warrior – Gemma Margerison, Connected
5. Nifty Networker – Stacie Batterham, Flourish Finance
6. HR Hero – Claire Thwaite, Cube HR
7. Most Treasured Team – The Anderton Centre
8. Triumphant Trailblazer – Dave Scholes, Six Connections
9. Light-hearted Leader – Maura Jackson, Backup North West
10. Marketing Magnifico – Creative Individuals
11. Brilliant Broadcaster – Tracy Heatley, Be Better With Tracy Heatley
12. Homeworking Wonder – Nicole Clowes, Mortgage Advice Bureau
13. Fresh’s Finest – Kim De Vine, Kim De Vine Financial Planning
Laura Leyland, MD of Fresh Perspective Resourcing and organiser of the awards said: “What a fitting end to another fantastic awards ceremony by recognising this incredible pool of talent. With the Freshies, we move away from the norm; we host an event that is not just fun and engaging but with categories that are unique to us too. Thanks to our incredible venue, The Tipi’s at Riley Green, our event had personality and an incredible atmosphere that saw people dancing the night away, enjoying pizza and celebrating each other’s success.”
More than 160 guests turned out in force to celebrate another Freshies ceremony which was a not-for-profit event, raising money for three charities close to the heart of the Fresh Perspective team; Bolton Lads & Girls Club, Lagan’s Foundation and The Anderton Centre – all of which will now receive a £2,000 donation to support the incredible work they do.
Laura added: “We are humbled to have once again had so much support for our second Freshies Awards and want to thank everyone who entered and attended. The Freshies is a truly fantastic event celebrating the incredible success stories seen across the North West. The awards highlight the dedication that everyone has for their business and whether you were a finalist or a winner, you should be proud of your achievements.”
