THIRTEEN IS LUCKY FOR LANCASHIRE HOUSEBUILDER

KINGSWOOD Homes is marking its latest landmark year in typical teenage style – by pushing the boundaries.

Having started its first four-home development just 13 years ago and now building 100 plus homes a year, Kingswood Homes is a rapidly growing business that’s shaking up the housing industry by doing things differently.

In its thirteenth year, the housebuilder has sold its 200th home at its Feniscowles development, Green Hills, made over £400,000 for Derian House Children’s Hospice and had plans for a 12,000 sq ft office to fit its growing employee base approved by Chorley Council

Paul Jones, managing director at Kingswood Homes said: “Some say that 13 is an unlucky number but for Kingswood Homes it marks just how far we have come since starting out in 2009. We are constantly shifting boundaries and challenging the norm when it comes to building homes – much like how teenagers like to fight against being told what to do!”

While its older, more established rivals deliver “identikit” developments with standard house types, Kingswood doesn’t believe in a “one size fits all” approach.

Instead, it creates bespoke developments in keeping with the local vernacular and gives buyers the power to “shift” walls and create homes that suit their lifestyles with its industry leading Shape Your Home concept.

“Kingswood has embraced the challenges that resulted from the pandemic, and we give our customers a brand new home, built how they want it. Whether they want a separate study downstairs or fewer but larger bedrooms upstairs, we can do it thanks to Shape Your Home. We’re all very excited for what the next few years bring.”

Kingswood has invested in the latest gaming-style virtual reality technology to enhance the customer journey and provide an immersive, interactive buying experience. The two combined have contributed to the company’s growth and determined to share that success, Kingswood has gifted a brand new home to Derian House Children’s Hospice to raise vital funds for the charity.

Launched in August 2021, The Big House Giveaway is Derian’s biggest ever fundraising campaign. Over £400,000 was raised in total and winner Charles Maughan, a support worker from Preston, who works with adults with learning disabilities for a local authority, described the big win as “life changing”.

Kingswood Homes is currently building at Green Hills in Feniscowles, The Hawthorns in Elswick, and at The Market Quarter in Hatherleigh, Devon. The company is also on site in the Lancashire village of Hoddlesden where it will be building 79 homes on the site of a former mill.
