Home maintenance tech start-up company, Patch App UK, has launched a £250,000 flagship Academy today in partnership with Burnley Football Club in the Community and Community & Business Partners CIC.
The Armed Forces Business Academy will train ex-forces service men and women to operate their own home maintenance businesses.
It aims to turn 119 ex-Forces employees into business owners in the first 5 years. The Academy is the first of its kind in the UK.
As part of the Academy, Community & Business Partners CIC will provide Veterans with two years of business mentoring and training. For the first 12 months, they will have meaningful employment and training with Patch, and then they will take on that part of the business and operate it themselves. Burnley Football Club in the Community, who have a strong Military Veterans programme, will be the recruitment partner.
Patch App UK, the instant book outdoor home maintenance company revolutionising the window cleaning industry, plans to bring window cleaning and then other outdoor home maintenance, right into the 21st Century.
The online subscription based company, which is based in Brierfield, strives to transform the market, allowing convenience for the consumer and economies for the service providers. They are dedicated to modifying the industry, meaning consumers can track their cleans, make automatic payments, and contact a dedicated Customer Service team all on their online account.
The pioneering tech company was co-founded by Paul White, who also modernised the cash based milk delivery round with The Modern Milkman, and Innovate UK’s Young Innovator, 24-year-old Conor Walsh.
