Applebridge Geoenvironmental Joins £36m Ground Investigation Framework with Severn Trent & Hafren Dyfrdwy

Applebridge Geoenvironmental, a ground investigation specialist and part of the wider Applebridge Family, has been named as one of the successful contractors on the Severn Trent and Hafren Dyfrdwy Ground Investigation Framework. This milestone marks a significant step in the company’s expanding presence within the infrastructure sector.

The framework, worth £36 million and running over three years, will see 12 appointed contractors deliver crucial investigation services across water treatment plants, sewage works, and pipeline routes spanning third-party land. These works will support the delivery of Severn Trent’s and Hafren Dyfrdwy’s long-term capital investment plans.

As part of its responsibilities, Applebridge Geoenvironmental will undertake technical site investigations, develop detailed reports, and analyse data to provide essential geotechnical insight to inform design decisions.

Anthony Owen, Managing Director, shared his excitement about the appointment:
“This is a fantastic opportunity for Applebridge Geoenvironmental to contribute to a framework of this calibre. Securing our place reflects the depth of experience within our team. Being part of this framework strengthens our position in the Ground Investigation sector and enables us to support infrastructure projects that are vital to the communities served by Severn Trent and Hafren Dyfrdwy.”

All works carried out will follow the ICE Specification for Ground Investigation (Third Edition, May 2022). The company’s proven capabilities, alongside the prior involvement of key team members in managing this very framework, were instrumental in securing the appointment.

Rebecca Vale, Severn Trent’s Category Manager, said:
“We are pleased to welcome Applebridge Geoenvironmental to our ground investigations framework. We’ve got a massive £12bn of investment planned for the next five years and support from specialist companies like Applebridge in the early stages of any project helps to ensure a smooth build programme. We are looking forward to working with them across AMP8.”

This appointment represents the latest success for Applebridge Geoenvironmental, which continues to build on the Applebridge Family’s reputation for delivering quality, technical excellence, and innovation across infrastructure projects that make a lasting impact on local communities.
