Two friends open innovative guilt-free healthy food outlet in Preston

Philip Smith, from Ashton and Lloyd Everett, from Warton aim to demonstrate their innovative approach to guilt-free calorie controlled eating, when they opened their first food outlet on Saturday 18 February. Called “Health Kicks Kitchen”, the outlet, which has created four new jobs, is based on Blackpool Road, near Five Lane Ends, Preston and is both an eatery (for up to 24 people) and a takeaway.

The opening was attended by Ste Nightingale, well known Preston based professional mixed martial arts bantamweight fighter, who fights Ondrej Skalnik from Czech Republic, at Preston Guildhall on Saturday 4 March, for the European UKFC title. Ste highlighted how important it is to maintain a healthy eating lifestyle, especially if you are a professional athlete.

The food outlet’s unique eating experience is based on developing a clear, structured approach to delivering a choice of foods, which match a person’s desired weight objectives. Once a customer knows how many total calories per meal they require, they can choose from a wide selection of excellent fresh foods, with each choice being supported by information which highlights how many calories per portion they contain. It is also important to Philip and Lloyd that they source their food ingredients locally, from companies such as Honeywell’s at Barton Grange.

Utilising their extensive knowledge and experience, they ensure that nothing is left to chance. Even the décor has been designed to have an urban, edgy rustic look, with plenty of wood and pastel colours, to create an atmosphere of fun and enjoyment, to encourage the selection of calorie controlled tasty food.

Commented Lloyd, who is both a qualified Physical Trainer and an Advanced Nutrition specialist: “Unlike your usual health bars, which offer just a predetermined calorie controlled menu of specific foods and drink, we offer a one to one personal service. We will sit down with you in advance to discuss your dietary goals and devise a choice of menus, which will help you achieve your weight related objectives. We will also advise on the best times to eat and which are the best health drinks to choose from, supported by a regime of regular exercise.

“However, we don’t just do weight loss since, based on our experience of helping hundreds of customers, we can also help customers “bulk up”; eat better to “lean up”; detox or just improve their healthy lifestyle.”

Added Phil: “We believe that we offer a unique healthy eating option, which can easily be replicated in other locations. Our aim is to open at least one new outlet per annum. Furthermore, as the concept develops, we will be introducing a Meal Preparation option, where a full week’s meal preferences can be produced for customers to consume at home, based on their predetermined healthy schedule. What we call our “prepare, cook and deliver” alternative.

“Health Kicks Kitchen is your one stop guilt-free fast food outlet to meet all your needs for a healthy, structured lifestyle. Don’t take our word for it, come and visit us and see for yourself!”
