Investment pays off for Lancashire law firm

Lancashire law firm Birchall Blackburn Law has reported a 13 per cent increase in turnover, following a year of investing in its people and resources.

The firm, which has offices in Preston, Leyland, Chorley and Morecambe, has surpassed turnover of more than £16m in the past financial year.

The business – which holds nine Law Society accreditations across its departments – says the results follow a year of investing in its existing teams, recruiting additional members of staff, embracing new technologies and going above and beyond for its clients.

Birchall Blackburn Law, is looking to continue investing in its people throughout 2017, with plans to create nine new jobs and offer two training contracts.

The results follow Birchall Blackburn Law being included in The Lawyer UK 200: Independents, where it was the sole North West addition to the report.

Senior Partner, Michael Foxford said: “We’re pleased to be able to report such a positive turnover increase and have everything we need in place to ensure we continue to see an upward trend in the coming years.

“Our results are down to our people and we have increased our investment in our teams across the business. We want to become an employer of choice and are in the midst of a recruitment drive which will give clients even greater access to expertise.

“As well as investing in our staff we have also invested in our resources. The legal services landscape is changing andtechnology has changed the way in which clients seek services and, in many cases, process legal matters.

“Here at Birchall Blackburn Law we’ve used that changing landscape as an opportunity to invest in our resources and embrace this change to enhance our position in the marketplace.”

The firm was previously named as one of London Stock Exchange’s ‘1,000 Companies to Inspire Britain’.
