Construction chemical specialist specialist, Sika, is set to reiterate its support for young talent, training, and apprenticeships in the construction sector on 24th May, as headline sponsor of the Construction Development Alliance (CDA) Young Professionals Awards.
The company behind leading roofing sector brands, including Sika-Trocal, Decothane, Sikalastic, and Sarnafil, Sika is sponsoring the Awards for the third consecutive time. The Awards recognise the achievements of five outstanding young people between the ages of 16 and 25, who encapsulate the contribution of young people to the North West construction sector.
Rod Benson, Business Unit Manager for Sika explains: “The CDA aims to support the growth of the construction and property sectors in the North West, and generate opportunities for young people, helping them develop their talent and long-term careers. We share those values, and are delighted to have an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of young construction professionals across all disciplines at this brilliant biennial event.”
Taking place at prestigious Lancashire venue, Burnley Mechanics, this year’s awards ceremony will be hosted by gardening expert and TV presenter, Charlie Dimmock.
Charlie said: “Nurturing young people, and supporting them as they develop their talent, is critical to any industry, and construction is a really exciting sector with a huge variety of professions on offer – including both gardening and roofing! I’m looking forward to meeting the young professionals at the Awards, and hearing about what makes them so passionate about their careers.”

A total of five awards will be given out on 24th May, with a winner for each of five categories: ‘Overcoming Adversity in Construction’, ‘Young Designer of the Year’, ‘Young Apprentice in Construction’, ‘Young Construction Professional’, and ‘Young Construction Environmentalist’.
