Remembrance support opportunity for Lancashire businesses

Lancashire will use music to commemorate the centenary of the end of the First World War and we’re offering businesses the chance to be a part of it.

Musicians and singers will come together for the Lancashire Remembers concert as the county pays tribute to the sacrifices of those who fought in the Great War.

Chant Productions, which trains singers to perform at major sporting events, is staging the concert, which will include a service of remembrance, in partnership with four organisations.

A choir of 400 voices will be accompanied by bands from across the community in the event hosted at Preston Guild Hall and broadcast live on BBC Radio Lancashire.

But there’s one missing ingredient we believe will ensure the night, on Saturday 10th November, is truly one to remember – and that’s you.

Lancashire has a strong business community and we’re hoping you’ll help us in a number of ways.

That 400-strong choir has yet to be formed – we’re asking singers of all abilities to join us for the one-off performance, and this could be where you come in.

It may be that you have a workplace choir keen to showcase their talents or you simply know of individual employees interested in hitting the high notes. We’d love them to be involved.

Singers must attend at least two rehearsals, which will be led by renowned opera singer Sean Ruane and held locally at weekends. They’ll be rehearsing four songs, which they’ll perform together during the concert.

On the night, the choir will be joined by East Lancashire Concert Band, led by musical director Dale Grindrod, and 2nd Rossendale Scout Band under the baton of Graham Helm. Accrington Pipe Band will be making an appearance and there will be performances by singer-songwriter Chris Bannister, Accrington PALS historian Les Bond and Katy Bradley, from KTB Music as well as Sean Ruane himself

There is a cost of £25 per singer which covers the cost of music provision/recording to aid learning through CHANT’s online e-learning resource, workshops, performance t-shirts and the individuals’ ticket.

This will help ensure that all money raised on the night goes directly to the Royal British Legion.

Businesses that have a charity fund may wish to donate the cost of their employees taking part.

The experience promises to be unforgettable for all those taking part.

Another way you can show your support is through sponsorship. We’ve created three different sponsorship packages for businesses keen to get involved in what will be a once-in-a-lifetime event.

One headline sponsor (£1,500) will be offered logo placement, event tickets, marketing via the website, email and social media, as well as mentions on stage and in the concert programme.

Eight keynote sponsors receive logo placement, email and social media marketing, a mention in the programme and tickets for £500.

We’re also offering 100 businesses a mention on social media and in the programme for £100 each.
