Preston Entrepreneur Takes His Business To The Big Apple

A Preston entrepreneur is taking his business global after announcing the opening of their New York office.

Rob Illidge from Fulwood, Preston, founded Social Republic, a global social media agency back in 2015.

The former Archbishop Temple pupil now hires over 300 freelance social media experts from around the world, and has attracted clients such as eBay, Red Bull, Pioneer and The Co-operative.

Social Republic which is supported by the NatWest Entrepreneur Accelerator, helps global, national and local businesses get the most from their social media strategies.

CEO, Rob Illidge said: “Opening an office outside of the UK has always been a dream of ours, and New York is the perfect home.

We have seen a noticeable increase in enquiries from U.S-based brands who wish to develop their social media campaigns, working with an experienced and flexible agency.

Our team in the city that never sleeps, will allow us to develop brands and build our offering, as we sleep on this side of the pond.

As someone who lived and studied in the United States, I understand the culture, determination and appetite for success of American businesses.”

Social Republic has also committed to hiring new employees during 2019 to support its growth after raising investment and is seeking further investment to aid it’s expansion.
