Local agronomy experts open up South African market

Bilsborrow based Levity CropScience, one of the UK’s leading agronomy companies, has started to break into the South African market, giving growers across the country access to its portfolio of ground-breaking products, resulting in larger and more resilient yields.

The breakthrough follows a recent visit by Levity’s co-managing director, David Marks to the Limpopo Valley for discussions on how their products can specifically benefit the avocado market and the subsequent receipt of Levity’s first order

In February 2019, Levity established a partnership with South African Distributor, TP Hentiq, and this order relates to a portfolio of Levity products; Lono, Sulis, and Albina, being made available to growers in the country. More product registrations are underway.

Levity’s fertilisers will help growers produce larger and more resilient yields across crops, including; avocados, bananas, oranges, blueberries, grapes and macadamia.

Anna Weston, co-managing director, Levity CropScience, said: “As well as avocados, we are also holding extensive trials in South Africa on oranges, using Sulis. The preliminary results are extremely positive and we look forward to working with TP Hentiq to benefit growers across the region.

“South Africa is the latest addition to Levity’s portfolio of exports, with recent additions including New Zealand, Australia, Malaysia and Romania.”
