Double award win for Blackpool property preservation company

A specialist property preservation company from Lancashire, has received two accolades at a prestigious awards ceremony hosted by national trade body the Property Care Association (PCA).

RTC, based in Blackpool, was presented with the Contractor of the Year in the Damp and Timber award for large businesses, judged on its annual audit.

The company also won the Outstanding Customer Service category, after showcasing their testimonials and feedback from customers.

RTC specialises in all aspects of building preservation and specialist property care including damp proofing, structural waterproofing and flood remediation as well as control of dry rot, wet rot and woodworm.

The company also uses a ‘customer service check list’ to ensure promises to customers are kept, alongside a ‘customer journey’ video series to help customers understand the service they need and what to expect at each stage of the process.

The Contractor of the Year awards were based on the audits of PCA members, and this is the second time RTC have been awarded the prestigious accolade, having been proud recipients of the same award in 2020.

A panel of expert judges assessed the award entries for Outstanding Customer Service.

The judges said: “Continual improvement and ‘doing what we say we will do’ is at the heart of this company’s ethos. A clear winner – this is how to do it!”

The PCA handed out a series of accolades to member businesses and individuals that showcased the highest level of professionalism and knowledge.

The Contractor of the Year (Damp & Timber) for large businesses was sponsored by Safeguard (Europe) Ltd, while the award for Outstanding Customer Service was sponsored by Edincare Pumps.

The awards were presented to the RTC team at a ceremony held at The Slate, University of Warwick.

Steve Hodgson, Chief Executive of the PCA, said: “Our members tackle a range of issues that can affect people’s homes and businesses, buildings of national importance or major infrastructure.

“Their talent and skills are highly valued, and our 2022 Best Practice Awards are an opportunity to celebrate the expertise and experience of our members.

“I congratulate RTC on the professionalism and commitment to quality service that is recognised with these awards.”
