Specialist property care provider Timberwise is marking a major success after earning a prominent award at the prestigious Property Care Awards.
The company, founded in Cheshire and now operating from a wide network of offices throughout the UK, secured the Training and Development award at this year’s annual event.
Hosted at Old Trafford and organised by the Property Care Association (PCA), the awards celebrated their fifteenth year by honouring member organisations across nine categories, recognising their achievements over the past year.
A long-established PCA member, Timberwise was presented with the Training and Development award for its continued investment in advancing the expertise of its surveyors, technicians and office teams, as well as its dedication to delivering specialist training for external clients.
The firm narrowly missed out on a second award in the Project Awards category, where it had been shortlisted for Health and Safety. It still received a Highly Commended distinction for its efforts.
Commenting on the Training and Development award, George Edwards, CEO of Timberwise, said: “Our win for the Training and Development award has once again proven that the PCA recognises our steadfast commitment to developing our team, equipping them with the skills to work to the highest standards on site, in the office, or wherever they might be. But it is not just technical training we want to encourage at Timberwise. Professional development and making sure our team feels encouraged to progress in their own career is just as important.”
Reflecting on the Health and Safety recognition, George Edwards added: “Our nomination for the Property Care Association Health & Safety award is something I am immensely proud of. It is a sure sign that the measures we have in place as a business are working, and that is not something we want to keep to ourselves. This acknowledgement by the PCA affirms that all the work we have done in recent years to make sure Timberwise is not only a leading force when it comes to the quality of our work, but also an industry leader when it comes to health and safety throughout the workplace, is paying off.”
The win underscores Timberwise’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its CPD programme and ensure all employees are supported in their professional growth. Mr Edwards extended his thanks to the Training and Development team, the Health and Safety representatives and the PCA for acknowledging the company’s dedication to both staff wellbeing and customer experience.
Since its establishment in 1968, Timberwise has grown into the UK’s largest family-run property care specialist, recognised for its excellence in remediation and restoration work. Although historically based in the North West, the company now serves customers across Great Britain, including its Scottish expansion in 2022.
Timberwise’s rigorous health and safety ethos, together with its commitment to Continuous Professional Development, ensures staff are equipped to carry out work safely and to a high standard. Its CPD seminars hold accreditation from the PCA and the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).
