CHORLEY’S business leaders are set for a ‘lift

CHORLEY’S business leaders are set for a ‘lift’ as the man behind the largest crane hire business in the UK will speak about how he built up the company he sold for £255m, at the next Choose Chorley networking event.

Martin Ainscough, who grew Ainscough Crane Hire into the most successful crane business in the UK employing more than 1000 people with a national network of 25 depots hosting 500 cranes, will be the keynote speaker at the event at Chorley Town Hall on Thursday 24 November.

He will also reveal his five top tips for success, followed by an open question and answer session.

Councillor Alistair Bradley, Chorley Council leader, said: “I’m delighted that local businessman Martin Ainscough will be at our next Choose Chorley Business networking event, our local business leaders cannot fail to be inspired by him.

“As well as his hugely successful business, he has a philosophy to ‘give back’ and since retiring he has become the driving force behind the Wigan Youth Zone and contributor of £3.8m towards the project, plus he’s also donated £1m capital funding to the Chorley Youth Zone which work is expected to start on later this month.

“Our Choose Chorley networking events are proving very popular with the local business community – they form just one part of a package of support and advice we offer to local businesses because they are vital to the growth of our local economy.

“So if you have a business and you’ve not yet been along, you would be very welcome – it’s free and it’s always good to see new faces to network with our regular attendees. The evening also offers the opportunity to meet exhibitors who offer support to businesses locally.”

The event is in The Lancastrian at Chorley Town Hall on Thursday 24 November at 5.30pm, to book a place simply search for ‘Choose Chorley events’ on eventbrite.co.uk
