Lancashire hotel appoints financial controller from European giant

An award-winning Lancashire hotel has appointed a new financial controller to support growth plans.

Taiyab Sufi, who is 35 and from Blackburn, joins the senior management team at Stanley House Hotel and Spa from Euro Garages.

Taiyab has 16 years’ experience heading up a team of over 30 at Euro Garages. Since it merged with EFR the group has 1,450 filling stations across Europe and an annual turnover of around €6billion.

In this role, he established commercial relationships with national and globally renowned brands including; Starbucks, Sainsbury’s, Subway and Greggs.

Taiyab is set to play a key role in boosting Stanley House’s long-term growth plans. He will be adding commercial systems and processes, extracting and analysing data and compiling full board packs.

He commented: “Stanley House is in an established position in the market place and has gained regional and national recognition.

“I believe I can utilise my personal experience and technical ability to improve long and short-term growth strategies for the business. This will be of great support to the directors who are looking to see efficiencies from a strong finance function.”

Taiyab started his career at Euro Garages as an apprentice before studying for the ACCA- professional accounting qualification. He also won the North West Financial Controller Award of the Year Award (NWFA) in 2010.

Stanley House Hotel and Spa has won widespread industry acclaim. It scooped the Best Luxury Hotel & Spa 2016 – Lancashire & LUX Recommended Wedding Venue 2016 award and the prestigious ‘Five Bubbles’ accolade from The Good Spa Guide. In addition, it recently acquired global industry recognition after being nominated in the prestigious World Spa Awards 2016.
