A Lancashire-based leader in energy supply has powered up its performance capability after teaming up with an IT specialist

A Lancashire-based leader in energy supply has powered up its performance capability after teaming up with an IT specialist.

PFP Energy has made a ‘significant investment’ in state-of-the-art IT at its premises on Preston’s famous docklands.

Technology specialists Holker IT has installed a cutting-edge computer system and also established a dedicated helpdesk facility for the firm’s 70-strong workforce.

“It’s a very big deal for us – in every respect,” said Adrian Leaker, managing director at PFP Energy, an energy supplier for domestic and commercial customers across the UK that recently achieved recognition as the second best provider by Which?

“Our business entirely depends on how we manage customers and data, so IT is right at the core of everything we do. The highest level of efficiency is paramount and cannot be compromised as we compete day-to-day against the country’s big six energy suppliers.

“Holker IT came strongly recommended and when we saw what they could offer in terms of systems, support, flexibility and value, there was really only one choice.”

Matthew Metcalfe, managing director at Holker IT, based in Colne, said: “We are delighted to have been entrusted with the IT provision at one of the county’s most progressive companies.

“Management at PFP Energy had specific IT requirements, both for kit and capability, and we have managed to get them switched across to a new system within two weeks.

“That complex installation has involved more than 300 machines and monitors and the provision of a fully-manned helpdesk.”

Management and staff at PFP Energy were treated to a full demonstration of the new IT system by technicians from Holker I
