Lancaster University Management School (LUMS) has established a new intensified international partnership with Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM).
The original partnership (established in 1989) has resulted in many student exchanges over the past 30 years. The current agreement, in the form of a Memorandum of Understanding, has recently been signed by both parties to strengthen the collaboration and maximise opportunities for the institutions to work together in areas of research, engagement and education. There will be a joint focus on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) as part of the impact missions of both schools.
The MoU is the next step in an strengthened working relationship which began last year with the launch of a staff exchange programme; encouraging academics to share best practice and research opportunities at both campuses in Lancaster and The Netherlands. The institutions have now pledged to explore additional ways of working together, including staff and student exchange programmes, knowledge sharing events and conferences, and new executive education offerings. Promising avenues of collaboration are online programmes, joint (part-time) PhD projects, professional staff exchanges, engagement and corporate partnerships, as well as centre- and grants development.
Professor Angus Laing, Dean of Lancaster University Management School, said: “We are delighted to announce this partnership with Rotterdam School of Management which opens up exciting opportunities for closer collaboration with one of Europe’s top ranked business schools.
