Blackburn with Darwen Services operator thanks visitors for top survey scores

Extra MSA Group, the motorway service area (MSA) developer and operator behind Blackburn with Darwen Services (M65 J4), has issued a statement of thanks to visitors for their feedback, after the popular Lancashire site was the third highest-rated motorway service area in the UK for overall satisfaction in the latest Motorway Services User Survey (MSUS) conducted by Transport Focus.

The 2022 research saw Blackburn with Darwen Services achieve a near-perfect score, with a significant 99% of visitors satisfied with the site.

The operator also scored wider, nationwide success in this year’s survey, coming out top of the four biggest MSA operators in terms of overall satisfaction; achieving a higher Net Promoter Score (NPS) overall than all other MSA operators; and receiving the joint-best operator score for satisfaction with the toilets across its estate.

Andrew Long, CEO of Extra MSA Group, commented:

“We’re committed to going the extra mile and providing an exceptional experience for visitors, so we were extremely proud to hear that our Blackburn with Darwen Services made the top five motorway service areas across operators in this year’s survey.

“As well as attracting people travelling on key routes across the country, Blackburn with Darwen Services regularly brings in local visitors from the surrounding areas to make the most of its food and drink offering. Our staff also see a lot of commuters and people travelling for business stop by – our colleagues and tenant partners even know some of our regular visitors on a first-name basis – so it’s great to get this recognition in terms of satisfaction with our site.

“We’d like to thank Transport Focus for conducting this important piece of research, and extend our sincere thanks to visitors for taking the time to provide helpful feedback for us to take forward and use to continually improve our sites over the coming year.”
