Following a consultation with the local community, Story Homes has submitted a planning application to bring high quality new homes to Longton.
The housebuilder exchanged contracts on land to the east of Reynard Close, Longton, in November and is seeking full planning permission for 34 homes on the site which is allocated for housing in the South Ribble Local Plan.
Story Homes’ proposals offer a variety of one to five-bedroom homes from the Story Collection, a range of homes with flexible, open plan living spaces, including a selection of affordable homes for those with a connection to the local area.
Martin Nugent, Senior Land Manager at Story Homes, said: “Following the public consultation in October, we have submitted a full planning application to South Ribble Borough Council. The scheme has been carefully designed to blend seamlessly with the surrounding neighbourhood in terms of density and scale, while providing a development with distinct character through Story Homes’ signature high quality street scenes. We anticipate a decision in summer/autumn 2023, with a view to start on site in late 2023 should our proposals be successful.”
The proposed development will support existing local businesses and help create additional employment through new opportunities for local sub-contractors and the supply chain.
