Andrews Tiles Expands Historic Business with Two New Sites, Including Greater Manchester Debut

Leeds-based tile company, Andrews Tiles, founded in 1886 as A Andrews & Sons, is making significant expansions by opening two new sites. For the first time in its 137-year history, the company is establishing a presence in Greater Manchester, with a new site in Bredbury. Additionally, the company is launching a branch in Seacroft, Leeds. Jess Learnmouth MBE, a member of the gold medal-winning triathlon mixed relay team at the 2020 Olympics, inaugurated the Seacroft site.

These new sites complement Andrews Tiles’ existing Meanwood base, its home since 1960, and its Glasgow location. The expansion in retail operations aims to meet the growing demand witnessed in recent years. As part of its expansion efforts, the company has hired two new team members: Doug Cleghorn as Online Sales Manager and Jonny Coombs as Branch Manager.

David Clough, Director at Andrews Tiles, expressed his delight at establishing these new sites, which will cater to customer demand in these areas and support the company’s ambitious growth plans. He also extended his gratitude to all those involved in setting up these sites, acknowledging the hard work that has gone into making this expansion possible.

Andrews Tiles has a rich history of supplying tiling and marble floors for various high-value projects, contributing to well-known buildings and monuments across the UK. Notable achievements include fitting 14 million mosaics to the CIS Tower in Manchester when it opened in 1962. The company has been the UK’s leading supplier and installer of Terrazzo tiles since the 1920s. In recent times, Andrews Tiles fulfilled a £6 million contract to refurbish the Westfield White City shopping centre in London in 2019.

David concluded by expressing immense pride in leading a company with such a storied history, crediting the dedication of the team and customers’ trust for the company’s enduring success, now spanning 137 years of providing high-quality flooring and Terrazzo tiles throughout the UK.
