It is a raise that will bump McCaffrey to a salary of around $15.55m a season for the next four years.
The 27-year-old is already coveted as the best running back in the NFL and this deal will ensure he remains the top dog in the earnings market.
Having been traded to the Niners in 2022, McCaffrey has been an offensive machine for Kyle Shanahan’s San Francisco attack.
In 2023, he led the league with 1,459 rushing yeards and 14 touchdowns.

He has been a massive reason for the franchise’s recent success and although they lost out in the Super Bowl in 2024, he will be hoping to take them back next year.
The extension will keep him on the West Coast until 2027, when he will be 31.
It provides security for the Niners and allows them to focus on providing more weapons to assist McCaffrey’s quest for a ring.
President of Football Operations and General Manager John Lynch siad: “Two years ago, we were ecstatic to welcome Christian McCaffrey to the 49ers.
“Since his arrival, he’s been everything we thought he would be and more. His versatile skillset has been a seamless fit within our offense.
“His professionalism and work ethic are as exemplary as I’ve seen since I’ve been associated with the NFL.
“We look forward to working with Christian for many years to come.”
