New brooms unveil a fresh look at Lancaster firm Citybase Apartments

Staff at Lancaster’s Citybase apartments are celebrating returning to a newly refurbished office this week, but the search for a new home continues.

The 8 week project, delivered by local building firm Contact One, has updated the space and introduced a new colour scheme and branding to reflect the firm’s acquisition in 2016 by SilverDoor – the world’s leading serviced apartment agent.

Enjoying a great location and panoramic views over the city, Citybase and SilverDoor currently occupy the third and fourth floor at Telephone House on Fenton Street. However, the company is now actively looking for a larger permanent city centre office facility to accommodate anticipated future business growth.

The updated office is home to 42 members off staff, and the board plan to expand further over the next 12 months

In the meantime the 45 staff, who help travellers source and book the best serviced apartments from a portfolio of over 170,000, can enjoy a fresh, bold new look and updated facilities, reflecting the investment in technology, customer service and skills that the board also has planned.

Managing Director Marcus Angell said of the company’s plans:

“As travellers increasingly see the benefits of apartments, the industry is set to grow; we are busy recruiting and planning to double in size, much of that growth in our Lancaster office.

While we are actively seeking new, high quality office space in the city, these improvements support our commitment to give our staff a great place to work and to attract and retain the brightest talent in the region”

The merger of SilverDoor and Citybase in 2016 created an unrivalled portfolio of 170,000 serviced apartments across the world. In the last 12 months, the firm welcomed properties from 61 new cities and opened a new APAC region headquarters office in Singapore as the firm maintains its position at the forefront of the serviced apartment industry, an increasingly evolving and competitive market.
