Empowered by Motherhood: Mum Opens Instagrammable Nursery Boutique in Cheshire

Inspired by her one-year-old daughter, a mother made the courageous decision to leave her stable corporate job and open an Instagrammable nursery boutique in the heart of Cheshire. Victoria Percy, together with her fiancé and business partner Matt, launched Bump Nursery Boutique on April 26th this year. Located on London Road in Davenham Village, Northwich, the luxury business venture aims to provide parents-to-be with a memorable shopping experience for prams and newborn essentials.

The idea for Bump Nursery Boutique emerged when Victoria returned to her hometown of Rochdale to purchase baby items during her pregnancy. Victoria and Matt had the vision to open a baby shop in the Northwich area, but the plan was put on hold due to exclusivity agreements held by the previous owner of Bump. However, when the opportunity arose to acquire the business earlier this year, Victoria and Matt seized the chance to make their dream a reality.

With Bump Nursery Boutique, Victoria and Matt are determined to take the luxury boutique in a new direction. They aim to create a one-stop shop for all newborn essentials, specialising in gifting and clothing. The boutique offers a flexible appointment service, allowing customers to bring their family and friends along to explore the shop and its offerings.

Victoria, a 35-year-old mother with an 18-month-old daughter named Nancy and an eight-year-old stepson named Henry, is committed to providing excellent customer service and honest advice. She wants buying a pram and nursery essentials to be a memorable experience, encouraging customers to enjoy the local surroundings and take advantage of the personalised appointment service. Bump Nursery Boutique also offers a guaranteed price match, pram building and car seat fitting services, and convenient deposit payment schemes.

Victoria’s decision to open her own business was driven by the birth of her daughter. Despite having no prior experience in running a business, she wanted to set an example for her daughter and demonstrate the value of hard work and determination. Victoria carefully selects all the products available in the boutique, keeping an eye on current trends and offering a gender-neutral clothing range that moves away from traditional blue and pink.

In addition to offering popular brands like Cybex, iCandy, and Snuz, Bump Nursery Boutique supports three independent clothing and gifting brands: Another Fox, Neutrum Bear, and Rose & Guy. The boutique also plans to host events for parents and parents-to-be, including baby first aid courses, baby yoga classes, and a Parents To Be event featuring local businesses showcasing their products and services.

Victoria has also collaborated with “The Mum Club Hale” for an upcoming event at Trafford Palazzo in the Trafford Centre, Manchester. The event will provide visitors with a glimpse of the boutique’s offerings, along with exclusive event promotions, Q&A sessions, and product demonstrations.

Despite being in operation for only ten weeks, Bump Nursery Boutique has already achieved significant progress. Victoria, with her firsthand understanding of what parents genuinely need, strives to create a supportive experience for her customers while promoting local businesses and building a strong community.

Bump Nursery Boutique operates from Wednesday to Sunday, offering open hours and appointment-only days. To stay updated, you can follow Bump Nursery Boutique on Instagram or Facebook.
